AfCiC Gift Shop

Looking for a unique gift idea?

Support a vulnerable child or family in Kenya by buying a friend or relative (or perhaps yourself!) an Action for Children in Conflict Gift. All of our gifts are designed to empower and protect the children that we are supporting and will give them the opportunity to have a brighter future.

We have a range of gifts available for all budgets:

Under £15

Buy Art Materials for use in Creative Therapy - £5
(up to 50 available)

Some children find it difficult to talk about their difficult experiences. By giving just £5 we can provide paints, paintbrushes and other art materials for our social workers to use in creative therapy sessions.

Provide a School Uniform for a Vulnerable Child - £10
(up to 500 available)

Often the only thing preventing a child from attending school is a lack of school uniform. For just £10 you can provide a school uniform for a child who can otherwise not afford it, allowing them to resume their education.

Give a Child a Running Kit - £10
(up to 50 available)

A typical day in our Interim Care Centre begins with the early morning Running Club which builds the boys up physically at the same time as teaching them discipline and dedication. For only £10 you can provide a full running kit for one of our boys.

Give Sports Equipment for Afterschool Clubs - £10
(up to 80 available)

Our afterschool clubs provide an alternative to the streets for children in Kiandutu Slum. For only £10 you can allow us to buy a football or other sports equipment to engage the children in fun games and activities.

Buy 4 Chickens - £10
(up to 10 available)

For just £10 you can buy 4 chickens whose eggs will provide us with both a source of food and income, allowing us to do more for the vulnerable children we work with.

£20-£35

Provide a Desk for a Poorly Equipped Classroom - £15
(up to 40 available)

Some of the poorest schools in Thika require children to buy their own desk when they enrol. For just £15, you can ensure one vulnerable child can go to school in an effective learning environment.

Feed a Child at Our Interim Care Centre - £20
(up to 50 available)

Children come to us direct from the streets where they have had an extremely poor diet. Just £20 can ensure one of the former street boys on our rehabilitation programme has 3 meals every day for a month, allowing them to build up their health and energy as we prepare them for a return to school.

Buy Fruit for Our Children’s Club - £20
(up to 36 available)

We run weekly Children’s Clubs in Kiandutu Slum for those children most at risk of dropping out of school. These children often suffer from hunger and extremely poor diets. A gift of only £20 would allow us to provide fruit for these children every week for an entire school term.

Provide a Bed kit for a Vulnerable Child - £20
(up to 50 available)

Provide a vulnerable child with a mattress, mosquito net and blanket for only £20. This will ensure they get a better night’s sleep and are protected against Malaria. Often families share a mattress and mosquito net or don't have one at all meaning that sleeping arrangements are inadequate.

Provide a Child with a Back to School Kit - £20
(up to 100 available)

A donation of just £25 will provide a rehabilitated street child the necessary items to return to school including uniform, school bag, books and stationary. Often, lack of uniform is the only reason that children are out of school.

Give a Child a Going Home Kit - £35
(up to 30 available)

Provide a rehabilitated child the necessary items needed to return home for just £30, including a shirt and shoes, toiletries, paraffin, candles and a contribution for the parents. By providing a good start at home, children are less likely to return to the streets in search of these items.

Feed a Child at School - £35
(up to 1000 available)

Hunger is one of the main reasons for children dropping out of school. For only £35 you can provide a vulnerable child with lunch every day for a year, ensuring they stick in school and are able to concentrate on their classes.

Over £40

Provide a Cook for a School - £40
(up to 36 available)

For only £40 you can pay a cook’s salary for a month, allowing us to feed 200 children. For many of these children lunch will be their only meal of the day.

Give Skills Training to an Unemployed Youth - £50
(up to 30 available)

For just £50 you can give an older street youth a chance in life by providing a skills training course in one of a range of trades including tailoring, carpentry, hairdressing or bicycle repair.

Buy a Goat - £50
(up to 22 available)

For only £50, your goat will provide our Interim Care Centre with a daily source of fresh milk to give to our children to help them grow strong. We also hope to eventually breed them and sell the offspring, creating an extra income for the centre.

Provide a Business Opportunity Through a Sewing Machine - £60
(up to 10 available)

A donation of just £60 will provide a sewing machine and a starter kit to a rehabilitated child who can not return to school but has completed skills training in tailoring. This will enable them to set up a tailoring business and generate their own income, removing the temptation to return to the streets.
