February 2007 saw the arrival of Fiona Cook as Fundraising Officer for Action for Children in Conflict UK. Fiona has previously worked in Kenya with refugees and has a strong background in International Human Rights Law. [more]

Morgan Stanley Fundraiser Basketball Game 21 Mar 2007
Action for Children in Conflict UK was approached at the end of 2006 by the London office of Morgan Stanley, a firm of investment bankers providing financial advice to people across the globe. The firm, which provides extensive financial support to charities - particularly those working to improve children's health and education - was keen to help Action for Children, and had organised and held a staff basketball game to raise funds for our projects. At the heart of our efforts to fund our charitable programmes is our network of Charity Shops in the Oxfordshire/ Wiltshire area. The shops are also our best and most pervasive link with our local communities, both in terms of the visiting public and of the many volunteers who find time to help us, and who are the lifeblood of any charitable organisation.
